1044 flats stacked in 6 towers of Stilt + 9 Floors and 648 Flats and 3 towers of stilt + 11 Floors 396 flats, constituting a total of 1044 flats over a 2.3 lakh square foot sprawling neighbourhood in Tondiarpet area will now provide safe haven for over a thousand families. Our primary intention was to maximize efficiency in space utilization by providing commensurable amenities in high-rise towers for the needy homeless brethren.

The golden words of Arignar Anna - ”ஏழையின் சிரிப்பில் இறைவனைக் காண்போம்” translates to "It is in the joyous smiles of the poor and needy, we witness God." These were the watchwords of the late leader, Kalaignar M.Karunanidhi, whose brainchild is the Tamilnadu Urban Habitat Development Board (TNUHDB), erstwhile Tamilnadu Slum Clearance Board providing houses for the homeless urban poor across the length and breadth of the state.

This scheme was a collaboration between the clients at the prestigious Tamilnadu Urban Habitat Development board and contractors CMK Projects, while we were responsible for the comprehensive design consultancy. With adequate two-wheeler parking slots in the stilt floor, an active sewage treatment plant, modern lifts and public purpose entities offered by the state government, the scheme fully functions as a self-sustained urban module.
